Product Updates: Week 51
This week's updates give property management teams more flexibility and control over user roles.
We're introducing a comprehensive user permissions system that lets you tailor access levels for different team members, from property owners who only need reporting access to maintenance staff who work exclusively with lockboxes.
We've also expanded our smart lock integrations and made it easier for admins to troubleshoot calendar connection issues across their teams.
New User Permissions & Roles
Managing a property management team means different people need different levels of access to your leasing platform. The new user permissions system gives you granular control over what each team member can see and do in RentEngine.
What's Changed:
We've updated the "Owner" label to Admin. The permission level remains exactly the same, this is simply a clearer label for the role.
New Roles:
Reports Only This role is designed for team members who need visibility into performance data without accessing day-to-day operational features. Reports Only users can:
View and print reports from the Leasing Pipeline
Access Intelligence reports and market analysis tools
Use RentEngine University for training resources
They won't see the chat support widget or have access to prospect management, showings, or other operational features.
Showing Agent Built specifically for leasing agents who need to manage their own workload without seeing the entire team's pipeline. Showing Agent users can:
View only their assigned prospects and unassigned leads in the Command Center (without the ability to filter for other agents' leads)
See only their own showings in the Showing Calendar, with the ability to reassign to other team members
Access Leasing Pipeline pages only for properties where they're on the subteam or assigned as the showing agent
Adjust their Personal Showing preferences and Notifications settings
Showing agents do not have access to the Properties tab.
Maintenance Created for maintenance staff who need lockbox access without seeing any leasing operations. Maintenance users can:
Assign lockboxes to properties
Generate lockbox codes
Access lockbox management features
They have no access to prospect data, showings, or other leasing features, keeping their view focused purely on property access.
Improved Member Management:
We've changed how member deletion works. Instead of permanently removing someone from your account, deleting a team member now uses a soft delete system. Deleted members are hidden from your active team list, but admins can view them by enabling "show deleted" in team settings.
Deleted members will see that their account access with your company has been removed. If they have access to other companies in RentEngine, they can still switch to those accounts.
Head to Settings > Team to assign new user permissions.

eRentalLocks Support
We've expanded our smart lock integrations to include eRentalLocks, joining our existing support for Sentrilock, Codebox, and Igloo.
If you're using eRentalLocks across your portfolio, you can now manage them directly through RentEngine alongside your other lockbox systems. This integration provides the same seamless code generation and management features you're used to with our other supported lock brands.

No Availability Alerts
RentEngine will now automatically notify you each morning if any of your available properties aren't showing any availability for showings. This proactive alert system helps you catch issues before they impact prospects.
Common issues this catches include:
Disconnected agent calendars
Missing agent availability settings
Configuration problems with showing methods
Block times that haven't been updated
The notification email includes a list of affected properties with direct links to resolve each issue. You can quickly identify and fix availability problems before prospects attempt to schedule showings and encounter errors.
Where to find it: This notification is turned off by default. Admins can enable it in their Notification settings.
Calendar Connection Visibility
Admins can now see whether showing agents have connected their Google or Outlook calendars, making it significantly easier to troubleshoot scheduling and availability issues.
Where to find it: Go to Settings > Personal, then select the agent from the dropdown in the top right corner. Their calendar connection status will be clearly displayed.

Mobile App & Bug Fixes
We've improved filtering in the Command Center on the mobile app. Your default filtering settings from the web platform will now automatically carry over to the mobile app, ensuring consistency in how you view and manage your prospect pipeline across devices.
We also resolved a bug where voicemail notification emails weren't being sent out, ensuring you're always notified when prospects leave messages outside business hours.
