More on how RentEngine AI handles your calls and texts → RentEngine AI
Product Updates: Week 35
This week's biggest release brings recording and transcription to your non-AI calls. Turn it on for a call in the Command Center and it will record, transcribe, and show the transcript live as the call happens, the same way an AI call already does.
Plus, you can now set how many minutes before and after a scheduled showing the code works, rather than running on the 45 and 60 minute defaults.
Here's what's new in RentEngine.
Record and transcribe your regular calls
You can now record and transcribe calls that are not handled by RentEngine AI, directly from the Command Center. Turn recording on for an inbound or outbound call to record, transcribe, and stream the transcript as the call happens. This is the same way it already records for AI calls, but with different styling, so it is easy to tell the two apart at a glance.
Recording is off by default. Turning it on for a call plays a message to both parties that the call is being recorded. The person enabling it confirms they will comply with the recording laws in their state and jurisdiction before it starts. Consent rules differ by jurisdiction, and RentEngine does not decide them for you.
You can also turn recording off partway through a call, and once it is off for that call, it stays off. A property manager fielding a sensitive tenant complaint can leave recording off for the whole call, while a leasing agent walking a prospect through lease terms can turn it on for the record and switch it off again the moment the conversation drifts into something personal.
Disclaimer: Transcripts are generated automatically and may contain mistakes. Verify anything important against the recording itself.

Self-guided showing access codes now use a configurable window
Access code timing for self-guided showings is now yours to set. Two fields control it: how many minutes before the scheduled showing time the code becomes available, and how many minutes after it stays available. The defaults are 45 minutes before and 60 minutes after.
If you set the window under 15 minutes, you’ll receive a warning that prospects who arrive early will not be able to enter the property until 15 minutes before the scheduled showing time. This will ensure codes cannot be tightened past the point where an early prospect is locked out.
Where to find it: Settings > Showings > Company > Self-Guided Showings section.
