Product Updates: Week 3

This week brings significant improvements to how you report on leasing performance and access your data. We're rolling out redesigned owner reports, plus a new Reporting API that gives you programmatic access to all your leasing metrics.

We've also added mobile app improvements, custom lead source tracking, and several features that make pre-screening and showing management more flexible.

Here's what's new in RentEngine.

Reporting

Owner Reports

The Leasing Pipeline and owner report templates feature an updated layout that presents leasing performance data in a more digestible format. Key metrics like leads, showings, applications, and days on market are easier to scan and understand at a glance.

Multifamily building performance

For multifamily properties, owner reports now show performance at both the building and unit level in a single consolidated report. This is particularly useful for properties with multiple units where owners want to understand both overall building performance and which specific units are driving results.

Detailed showing feedback

Owner reports now include more comprehensive showing feedback data including:

  • What they liked

  • What they disliked

  • What would prompt them to apply

  • What maintenance issues caught their attention

This helps identify property-specific issues or competitive advantages/disadvantages that affect leasing velocity.

Pricing history

Reports now display price history over time, showing owners when and how pricing adjustments were made during the reporting period.

Our data shows pricing mistakes are one of the biggest drivers of extended days on market. Properties priced 5-10% above market can sit vacant for weeks longer than correctly priced units, costing thousands in lost rent. The pricing history section makes it easy to spot when pricing adjustments happened and whether they correlated with changes in lead volume or leasing velocity.

New Reporting API

If you use custom dashboards, business intelligence tools, or need to integrate RentEngine data with other systems, the new Reporting API lets you pull comprehensive property and leasing metrics directly.

This opens up new possibilities for advanced reporting, data warehousing, and integration with your existing business systems. Pull data on your schedule, build custom visualizations, or feed RentEngine metrics into company-wide dashboards.

Available data includes:

  • Days on market for each property

  • Number of leads

  • Showing feedback and completion rates

  • Lead-to-lease conversion rates

  • Application data

    .. and more!

Intelligence & Lead Tracking Updates

We've added two new capabilities that give you better visibility into your lead sources and prospect types.

Agent vs. Self-Guided

The Intelligence tab now includes a column that identifies whether prospects are working with an agent or searching independently. This can inform how you structure your leasing process, communication timing, and resource allocation across your portfolio.

Custom Prospect Sources

If leads are coming from channels like TikTok, Instagram, or other sources not in the standard dropdown, you can now add them as custom sources.

This ensures accurate tracking across all your marketing channels, not just the pre-defined options. Track ROI on new marketing experiments without waiting for platform updates.

Mobile App Improvements

We've made two updates that improve how you interact with the mobile app.

Deep Linking from Emails

When you click on any action buttons in RentEngine emails (AI escalations, showing scheduled notifications, etc.), they now open directly in the mobile app instead of your phone browser. This creates a smoother experience and gets you to the relevant information faster.

Agenda View in the Showings Calendar

The mobile app now includes an agenda view for the showing calendar. If you have multiple showings overlapping on the same day, this view makes it much easier to navigate your schedule and see what's coming up.

Pre-Screening & Showing Updates

Bypass Credit Requirements for Housing Vouchers

You can now bypass credit requirements for prospects using Section 8 or other housing vouchers. This streamlines the application process for voucher holders by automatically adjusting requirements based on their payment method, reducing friction in the application flow.

RentEngine AI Showing Support

RentEngine AI can now answer more detailed questions about upcoming showings, including whether prospects can start early if they arrive before the scheduled time, rescheduling options, and other timing-related questions.

This reduces back-and-forth communication around showing logistics, letting prospects get immediate answers to common scheduling questions.

Current Tenant Notifications

When a showing gets scheduled at a property with a current tenant, we'll automatically notify them. If that showing gets cancelled but another showing is still scheduled for the same time, we won't send a cancellation notification. This reduces unnecessary messages for current tenants.
