Product Updates: Week 28

This week’s updates are all about reducing friction for your leasing team and prospects. From a smarter scheduling engine to stronger fraud prevention and embedded virtual tours, let’s dive into the updates!

💡

If you missed last week’s updates: check it out here.

Smarter scheduling logic

We’ve upgraded RentEngine’s scheduling logic to better handle real-world quirks and edge cases. That includes:

  • More accurate drive-time calculations for agents moving between showings

  • Clustering logic that groups nearby showings together

For example: If an agent is already scheduled to show 123 Main Street at 10:00 AM, and 125 Main is just next door? We’ll nudge the prospect to choose a preferred time that minimizes travel.

Blocklisting prospects

Blocking suspicious prospects used to rely only on phone numbers. But we’re seeing more sophisticated attempts, and we’re meeting them head-on.

You can now blocklist prospects based on:

  • Phone number

  • Email address

  • Driver’s license

Blocklisting is now based on phone number, email and driver's license.

Even if someone tries to re-register with a new number or email, they won’t make it through if their ID is already blocked. It's a major win for fraud prevention.

Custom application fees

You can now set custom application fees per property.

This is ideal if you manage units across cities with different local laws, or use cases like commercial vs. residential. This setting works with any application provider.

Embedded virtual tours

We now embed video tours from YouTube, Vimeo, Matterport, Ricoh, Zinspector, and Zillow directly into your listings.

That means prospects don’t have to leave the page to get the full virtual experience.

And now onto some bug fixes…

Smarter Filtering in the Command Center

Previously, if a lead had multiple property interests, filtering would only return them if all of their applications matched your criteria. Now, you’ll see them even if just one of their associated properties meets your filter.

Easier Subteam & Property Deselect

You can now cleanly deselect subteams or property groups without RentEngine hanging onto your previous selection. Helpful when you’re toggling between portfolios or setting overrides on the fly.

Better AI Email Summaries

When our AI can’t respond to a lead (for example, if something’s unclear or missing), we now include the lead’s name and the associated property in the email. That way, your team has context before jumping in.

Lead names and associated properties are now included in AI email.

More Accurate “Last Contacted” Dates

The Leasing Pipeline now updates the Last Contact Date based on the most recent message exchanged, not just the last system event. For example, if an "Application Sent" event is logged on Monday, but the lead and leasing agent keep chatting via SMS through Thursday, the Last Contact Date will now reflect Thursday.

And that’s it for Week 28! As always, send through any feature requests or suggestions to ops@rentengine.io or chat to us via the Chat function.
