More on managing applications day to day → Applications & Screening
Product Updates: Week 26
Rental applications now flag new activity the moment it happens, Market Tool remembers your filters and tells you what's new since you last checked, and teams running paid ads can now see which showings turned into a Google Ads conversion.
Here's what's new in RentEngine.
Rental applications
Skip an application step instead of waiting on it
If an applicant is stuck or a step doesn't apply, you can now click that step on their application tracker and skip it yourself. The prospect's flow moves past it, and the skip gets logged with who did it and when, so you and your support team always have a record of why a step was bypassed.
Know which applications need you, without opening them
Three small changes work together to surface new activity faster. The Applications dashboard now shows a dot next to any application group with new activity: a text from the applicant, a screening report that's ready, or a reference that just came in.
The same activity also triggers a notification inside the app and a blue dot on your browser tab's favicon, so you'll notice even if the tab isn't in focus.
And when you have several application reports open at once, each browser tab is now labeled with the applicant's name and the report type, so you can find the right one fast.
💡
Add rent and deposit to your approval emails
The application approval and conditional approval email templates now support Rent and Deposit as variables, alongside the existing ones. Both the template and the individual email are still editable before you send, so you can adjust the wording or amounts case by case.
Edit your email templates in Settings > Rental App Templates.
Market Tool
Your filters and exclusions now save automatically
Market Tool now remembers the filters you set and the listings you excluded, and applies them the next time you load that property — for every PM on your team. A new "Recent searches" section sits above your portfolio in the search dropdown, so you can jump straight back into a property the way you last left it.
When new listings show up since you last checked a property, a "New on Market" stat card appears with the count, and those listings get a "new" dot and move to the top of the comps table.
See price drop history at a glance
Every unit in the comps table now shows a badge next to its rent if the price has been cut, with the number of cuts. Hover over the badge for the full price history. PDF exports get two new columns next to Rent: number of price cuts and starting price, so owners can see the same pricing story in their report.
Google Tag Manager tracking
If you run paid ads, RentEngine can now fire a Google Analytics 4 event through Google Tag Manager whenever a showing gets scheduled, whether the prospect booked through your widget or through a prescreening link. That event flows into your own GTM/GA4 setup, so you can see which ad spend is actually turning into scheduled showings instead of stopping at a click or a form fill.

Command Center
Turn an AI reply into a snippet in one click
RentEngine AI message threads in the Command Center now have an editing icon icon at the bottom, next to “Report Issues”. Click it to open a modal that turns the surrounding conversation into a new Snippet, with the title pre-filled by AI based on the messages around it. You write the snippet body, and if it looks similar to or conflicts with an existing one, RentEngine flags that and links you to the Snippets page so you can compare before saving. You'll also need to confirm the snippet reflects a company-wide policy, not something specific to one property, before it saves.
Resend a failed message without retyping it
When a message fails to send, you'll now see two small buttons next to it: Retry, which resends it as a new message, and Send via Email, which falls back to email if you haven't already sent one. No need to recreate the message from scratch.
Billing
Revenue share payouts
Ramp revenue share payouts are now visible directly in your Billing tab.
