Product Updates: Week 21

This week we opened up Intelligence APIs so you can pull all your leasing data programmatically, launched a Rental Beast integration that syndicates your listings directly into MLS networks, and shipped a tenant acceptance flow that lets current tenants accept or reject upcoming showings at occupied properties.

We also added owner summary emails for rental applications, TT Lock as a new lockbox integration, new customizable messages, mobile home and lot property types, and a handful of application and UX improvements.

Here’s what’s new in RentEngine.

Intelligence APIs

All Intelligence report data is now available via API. You can programmatically pull data from every report, including:

  • Property Performance

  • Prospects

  • Properties

  • Showings

  • Prescreenings

  • Calls

  • Marketing Sources

  • Rental Applications

  • Agent Performance

  • Lockboxes

This means you can feed your leasing data into external dashboards, BI tools, owner reporting systems, or any custom workflow your team needs without exporting CSVs or building manual reports.

Rental Beast integration: MLS syndication for your listings

RentEngine now integrates with Rental Beast, giving your listings automatic exposure across MLS networks and REALTOR association platforms.

Rental listings managed in RentEngine are automatically published to Rental Beast's syndication network. From there, they appear in local MLS search results β€” the same search agents use to find properties for their clients.

Rental Beast has partnerships with MLS networks across the country, including ARMLS (Arizona), MIAMI Realtors, MLS United (Mississippi/Southeast), NTREIS (North Texas), Triangle MLS (North Carolina), Pikes Peak Association of REALTORS, and MLS Now β€” among others.

The integration supports both single-family and multifamily listings. Listings sync automatically from RentEngine, so there's no duplicate data entry or ongoing maintenance required.

Tenant acceptance flow for showings

For tenant-occupied properties, current tenants can now accept or reject upcoming showings and set their own availability. It's only available for accompanied showings at units with a current tenant on file.

When a showing is scheduled at an occupied property, the tenant receives a text with a secure link. From that link, they can cancel the showing (with a required reason) or confirm availability.

If a tenant cancels, the prospect automatically receives a rescheduling message: "Unfortunately, I can't show {address} at {time}. Please use this link to select a new time."

Tenants can accept or reject showings via a secure link sent by text.

Tenants cannot cancel a showing without a reason and the cancellation reason is logged in the Command Center as "Canceled by current tenant: {reason}", and included in the assigned agent's email notification. This also appears as a new cancellation source in the Showings Report.

The feature is controlled per unit via a toggle next to the first tenant's phone number.

Where to find it: In the property editing flow (you can also bulk update it across properties).

Owner summary email for rental application approval

You can now send a formatted summary email to a property owner directly from the application review page, with the application package attached for their review and approval.

When you click the summary email button, it opens a side-by-side editor:

  • Left side: a customizable email template (pre-filled with the owner's email address) and checkboxes to select which documents to include in the attached ZIP file

  • Right side: a live preview of the email as HTML, including Approve and Reject buttons that the owner can click directly

The attachments you can include are the application itself (with SSN and DOB hidden), criminal report, eviction report, and credit report. ID verification status is shown but the actual ID document is excluded for security.

If the owner clicks Approve, the application moves to "Approved" status with context logged. If the owner clicks Reject, an email is sent to the responsible PM or subteam notifying them that the owner rejected the application and to follow up. The email template is fully customizable, and replies go directly to the user who sent the email.

TT Lock integration

RentEngine now integrates with TT Lock, a smart lock system used across residential and commercial properties. TT Lock joins MasterLock, CodeBox, CenturyLock, Igloo, eRental, and Point Central, as supported lockbox providers.

Any lock that uses TT Lock firmware is compatible, and there's no monthly cost per lock.

Like all supported locks, TT Lock generates unique access codes per showing with full audit logs.

New customizable messages

Three additional messages are now customizable under Settings > Communication > Messages:

Off-market cancellation β€” the message sent when a showing is canceled because the unit was taken off the market. Default: "Hi, unfortunately {address} is no longer available and we'll need to cancel the showing. But let me know if you want to see any other units: {url}"

Not interested after showing β€” the message sent when a prospect says they're not interested after viewing a property. Default: "Thank you for viewing our property. I know you said this one isn't a fit for you but check out other available places nearby that might work for you: {url}"

Price change alert β€” the notification sent when a unit's price changes.

Mobile home and lot property types

RentEngine now supports "Mobile Home" and "Lot Only" as property types. Mobile homes syndicate to listing sites normally. Lots (classified as commercial) do not syndicate.

This update flows through to PMS syncs, manual property creation, property editing, listing pages, and all feeds.

Edit move-in date on applications

You can now edit the move-in date directly on the application review page. Hover over the date on the Household Summary card to reveal an edit icon, click it, and a date picker appears. The change is logged in the application activity log.

Deleted users removed from dropdowns

Users who have been removed from your account no longer appear in dropdown menus across the platform β€” including the Command Center, agent selector in the properties tab, and the Rental Applications dashboard.

Mobile app: keyboard fix for showing notes

The keyboard on iOS no longer covers the showing notes field when editing in the mobile app. The view now scrolls correctly so you can see what you're typing.
