Product Updates: Week 19

This week's biggest update turns every completed showing into a chance to build your Google reviews β€” automatically. Prospects who rate a property 5 stars get directed to your Google Business Profile. Anyone who rates lower gives you private feedback instead.

We also shipped a Prospects API, showing calendar subscriptions for Outlook, Google, and Apple Calendar, MasterLock integration, and a batch of workflow improvements across communication, scheduling, and the Command Center.

Automatic Google review collection after showings

After a showing is completed, RentEngine can now automatically send a branded review invitation to the prospect. The prospect sees your company logo and a star rating prompt. If they select 5 stars, they're directed straight to your Google Business Profile to leave a public review. If they rate less than 5 stars, their feedback is collected privately β€” emailed to anyone subscribed to showing feedback for that property and logged as an internal note on the prospect's record.

After a showing, prospects see a branded review page. Five stars routes to Google and anything less stays internal.

The review invitation is sent as a customizable text message right after the Showing Complete event (unless the prospect selected "Not Interested"). You can use the default message or edit it to match your tone. Where to find it: Settings > Communication > Messages (in the Other section).

To set it up, add your Google Business Profile link in Settings > Company > Customize Company Branding.

Enable the review invitation in Settings > Showings > Company > Smart Scheduling

After adding your Google Business Profile link, enable the review invitation in Settings > Showings > Company > Smart Scheduling (under All Showings).

Prospects API

A new API endpoint lets you programmatically add prospects to RentEngine. When you create a prospect via the API, they enter the same workflow as if they'd been added manually.

This opens up integrations with external lead sources, CRMs, or internal tools that need to push prospects into RentEngine without logging into the platform.

Add prospects via API β€” they enter the full leasing workflow automatically.

The endpoint accepts name, phone, email, unit ID, and source, with optional settings to skip the initial SMS or send a custom first message.

Subscribe to the Showings Calendar in Outlook, Google, or Apple Calendar

You can now subscribe to the RentEngine Showings Calendar directly in Outlook, Google Calendar, or Apple Calendar β€” without needing to receive email notifications for each showing.

This is particularly useful for teams that use a shared inbox, and where individual calendar invites don't make it to the right person. The subscription keeps your external calendar in sync with all upcoming showings automatically.

Pause follow-ups when you pause AI

When you turn off RentEngine AI for a specific prospect, a popup now asks if you also want to pause that prospect's automated follow-ups. This works on both web and mobile.

Pause AI and RentEngine now prompts you to disable follow-ups too.

Previously, pausing AI left follow-ups running β€” which meant prospects could still receive automated messages even after you took over the conversation manually.

ICYMI: You can now also turn off RentEnigne AI for specific properties.

Blocking a prospect now blocks communication

When you block a prospect, all communication is now fully blocked β€” not just the prospect's ability to schedule showings. The Command Center shows a banner: "You have blocked communication with this prospect. Click Action > Unblock to resume communication."

Book accompanied showings with less than 1 hour notice

You can now set the minimum notice period for accompanied showings to less than 1 hour β€” including zero. Previously, the minimum was locked at 1 hour.

Where to find it: Settings > Showings > Company > Accompanied Showings > Minimum Notice Period (hours).

Customizable canceled-when-rented and price drop messages

Two more messages are now customizable under Settings > Communication > Messages:

Showing canceled when rented β€” the message sent to prospects when their showing is canceled because the unit was leased. You can now edit this to match your tone and include links to other available properties.

Price drop alert β€” the notification sent to active prospects when a unit's price drops. Customize the language to fit how your team communicates price changes.

Where to find it: Settings > Communication > Messages.

Download Command Center message history as PDF

You can now download the full message history for any prospect in the Command Center as a PDF. Click the + icon next to the message box, then the download icon. The export includes texts, calls, and leasing events with timestamps and the name of the user who sent each message.

Useful for compliance, dispute resolution, or any time you need a paper trail.

Scheduling links and multifamily unit selection links are now automatically shortened. Shortened links look cleaner in text messages and improve click-through rates β€” especially for multifamily links that previously included long URL parameters.

Showings Calendar timezone selector

The Showings Calendar tab now has a timezone dropdown so you can view showings in any timezone. Your last selected timezone is saved automatically.

This is especially useful for teams with virtual assistants in different time zones who need to view showings in the property's local time.

HOA status on listing pages

Listing pages now clearly display whether a property is in an HOA. The display is structured as: "HOA: No," "HOA: Yes," or "HOA: Yes with HOA application required" β€” so prospects know upfront if there's an additional application step.

AI improvements

Two targeted updates to AI communication this week:

Meeting location handling for accompanied showings. AI now correctly communicates the meeting location for accompanied showings, so prospects know exactly where to meet the agent.

Better handling for abbreviated street names. AI no longer misinterprets abbreviated street names (e.g., "St" vs "Street," "Dr" vs "Drive") when communicating property addresses.

MasterLock integration

RentEngine now integrates with MasterLock lockboxes. MasterLock joins CodeBox, CenturyLock, Igloo Locks, eRental Locks, Point Central, and Rently as a supported lockbox provider.

Like all supported lockboxes, MasterLock generates unique, one-time access codes per showing with full audit logs.
