Product Updates: Week 10
This week brings major improvements to your website listing widgets—including live hosting that eliminates the need to update embed codes every time we release new features. We're also announcing our integration with PMDash for centralized KPI tracking, plus new features for tracking showing cancellations and automatically responding to missed calls.
Here's what's new in RentEngine.
New Integration: PMDash.io
RentEngine is now available as a native integration on PMDash, the new KPI dashboard that pulls your entire property management stack into a single view.
PMDash gives property management teams one place to track KPIs across every tool in their stack. Instead of toggling between apps, it pulls data from all your software (PMS, maintenance, leasing, financials) into a single screen.

Website Widget Updates
We've rolled out a slate improvements to your website listing widgets, and is the final update you need to make
Why "final update"?
Your widget is now live-hosted. Any new features that we release will automatically update on your live widget.
Action required:
Update your widget code one final time to get these improvements and enable live hosting. After this update, all future changes will sync automatically without touching your website code again.
Where to find it: Settings > Company > Listing Widget Builder
Fixed Map Display
The map no longer stretches vertically based on how many listings you have.
Previously, portfolios with many properties would see maps stretching from Northern Canada to Florida with their actual properties clustered somewhere in the middle.
Now the map uses a fitted view that focuses on your actual property locations. The listing area scrolls independently of the fixed map, so prospects can browse all your properties while the map stays focused on relevant geography.
Map Toggle
We added a map toggle at the top of the widget, letting visitors switch between map view and list view based on their preference.
Some prospects prefer to browse properties on a map to understand locations relative to work, schools, or neighborhoods. Others prefer list view with filters and sorting. The toggle gives them both options without forcing one approach.
Search by City, Zip Code, or State
The search bar now supports searching by city, zip code, or state—not just property names.
Visitors can type "Worcester" or "30317" and see only properties matching that location. Results filter in real-time as they type, making it faster to narrow down properties by area.
This is particularly useful for property managers operating across multiple markets or cities. Prospects can immediately filter to their target area instead of scrolling through your entire portfolio.
Multifamily Properties in Suggested Searches
Multifamily building names now appear in suggested searches, making it easier for visitors to find and view all units within a specific building.
Direct Shareable Links
Each property now has its own direct link within your widget, making it easier to share specific listings.
Instead of sending prospects to your main properties page where they have to search for the unit again, you can share a direct link to a specific property. The link opens with that property already selected and its details displayed.
These links are also indexable by search engines, improving your site's SEO. Individual property pages can now rank for specific searches, driving more organic traffic to your listings.
Additional Improvements
Navigation arrows for photos: When viewing property photos on desktop, navigation arrows now appear, making it easier to browse through images without clicking back to the thumbnail view.
Move-in date display: The move-in date now displays on the property detail page when the date is in the future, helping prospects understand availability timelines immediately.
Cancellation Reason Tracking
You can now require agents to provide a reason when they cancel or reschedule showings, giving you visibility into why showings don't happen.
How it works:
When an agent cancels or reschedules a showing (both in the app and on desktop), a "Reason" text field appears where they can explain why. This reason shows up in three places:
The showings report in the Intelligence tab (right after the "Cancelled by" column)
The event bubble in the Command Center chat
The showing details page
Automatic reasons for system cancellations:
When showings are automatically cancelled by the system (property goes on hold, property gets rented, earliest showing date moves out, or text messages stop delivering to the prospect) RentEngine automatically populates the cancellation reason on behalf of the agent.
This ensures you have complete data even for system-triggered cancellations, not just manual ones.
Configuration:
This feature is off by default to avoid disrupting existing workflows. To enable it, go to Settings > Showings > Company and turn on "Require agent cancellation reason."
Automatic Messages After Missed Calls
RentEngine now automatically sends a message to prospects after missed calls, ensuring they get a response even when you can't answer the phone.
How it works:
When a call from a prospect goes unanswered, the system sends an automatic message based on the prospect status (like unregistered lead, interested in multiple properties, etc.)
This keeps the conversation going and gives prospects an immediate way to ask questions via text even when phone calls don't connect.
Built-in safeguards:
The system includes rules to prevent message spam and ensure appropriate timing:
Won't send if the prospect is currently in a showing (they're busy, messaging would be disruptive)
Won't send more than once per hour to the same prospect (prevents repeated automated messages if someone calls multiple times)
These guardrails ensure prospects get responsive communication without feeling bombarded by automated messages.
Customization:
You can edit the automatic message text to match your communication style or address specific scenarios common in your market.
Where to find it: Settings > Communication > Messages > Scroll down to "Missed Call Messages"
Reporting & Syndication Improvements
Syndication Status Report Updates
The syndication status report now provides clearer explanations of each status and includes FAQs to help you quickly identify and resolve syndication issues.
What's improved:
Status descriptions: Each status now explains exactly what it means and what action (if any) you need to take. Instead of seeing "Not Posted - Blocked" without context, you now get an explanation: "Listing does not meet Zillow's terms. Please click the report listing button if you believe this is an error."
FAQ section: We've added common questions with direct links to answers:
Why isn't my listing posted?
Why is Google showing an old version?
What websites does RentEngine syndicate to?
This makes it easier to troubleshoot syndication problems independently without waiting for support to clarify what each status means or how to resolve it.
Where to find it: Intelligence tab > Syndication Status Report
Agents Alphabetically Ordered
Agent dropdowns throughout the platform now sort alphabetically by first name instead of random order.
This is a small quality-of-life improvement that makes it faster to find specific agents when you have large teams. Instead of scanning an unsorted list, you can jump directly to the right alphabetical section.
