New Feature Release: Integrated Messaging

Today we released our newest update: Integrated Messaging

It's our first step towards making RentEngine the most powerful communications platform for leasing.

Now you can read the recent message/call history for every prospect and send one-off messages. Integrated Messaging opens as a "chat" window across the platform.

All texts are sent and received via your dedicated RentEngine leasing number.

How to Use Integrated Messaging

With this new release you can get even more visibility into the prospects communication on RentEngine.

We suggest using it for:

  • Understanding an individual prospect's situation

  • Making one-off follow ups for specific prospects

  • Replying to prospects who are awaiting a PM response (see below)

Open the integrated messaging for any prospect in the Leasing Pipeline, Showings Calendar and Rental Applications tabs.

We've updated the interface so that all prospect cards are now clickable. When you click on a prospect, the chat window with the message history opens from the bottom.

From the Showings Calendar

Click on the scheduled showing and press "Contact". We recommend this for connecting with the prospect before an Accompanied Showing. To read more about available showing options, see our related post on showings here.

From the Rental Applications

If you need additional documents or have a follow up question, reach the applicant directly by pressing "Contact Applicant" from their individual applicant section

How to Reply to PM Questions

For prospects that are Awaiting PM Response, you can reply directly from the messaging window to answer their question. By default, when you reply to one of these questions, it will start with "About your question, the PM said "

A Note on Follow Ups

But just because you can now send outbound messages, don't feel that you now need to do all the follow ups.

RentEngine has robust follow up sequences based on the prospects recent leasing events and message history. Each sequence is a minimum of 3 steps, with custom sequences for every status:

  • New leads

  • Showing Desired

  • Missed Showing

  • Showing Canceled

  • Showing Failed

  • Still Deciding

  • Application Sent to Prospect

What's Coming Next

Our vision is to make RentEngine the most effective all-in-one platform for leasing. Prospect communication is a huge piece of that: calling, texting and video calls.

I'm very excited that this release lays the groundwork for much more to come.

We've already started work on the next step which includes a dedicated Command Center for all communications, voice calls, MMS, snippets, reminders and programmable custom follow ups.
