New Feature Release: Custom Prescreening Templates

Hot on the heels of our Fraud Guard launch, we’re rolling out another major upgrade to give you more security and control over lead prescreening.

What’s new?

You can now create Prescreening Templates with specific requirements that apply to individual properties or entire portfolios. This is especially useful if you manage properties in different states with unique rental regulations.

When you activate a new property in RentEngine, you’ll see the option to assign a Prescreening Template during the last step of the setup process.

What you can control with Prescreening Templates

Minimum income and credit score:

Set baseline requirements to ensure qualified applicants.

Custom prescreening questions:

Tailor questions to match your leasing criteria, including topics like:

• Housing vouchers

• Pet policies

• Criminal background

Fraud Guard settings:

Turn on ID verification, selfie matching, or phone number checks to prevent fraudulent leads from getting through.

Already using prescreening?

We’ve already migrated your current settings into a default Prescreening Template. You can edit or duplicate from there.

To get started, head to Settings > Showings > Prescreening and review your templates.

When activating a new property, just choose the relevant Prescreening Template in the last page of the editing flow.

The more control you have over who enters your leasing pipeline, the better your outcomes. This update helps reduce fraud and improve lead quality, and saves your team time by filtering out unqualified renters automatically.
