New Feature Release: Custom Follow-Ups
By now, we hope you’re not still manually following up with prospects. RentEngine’s automated lead nurturing is already saving leasing teams hours but now we’ve given you even more control.
Now, with our new Custom Follow-Ups feature, you can decide what gets sent—and when.
With Custom Follow-Ups, you can now:
Write your own follow-up messaging
Choose the exact timeframe for when follow-ups are sent
Tailor communication to match workflows, property types or lead behavior
How it works
You’ll find all your follow-up activity in the Command Center.
To edit or view a scheduled follow-up:
Click into a prospect’s profile
In the bottom right corner, click “See scheduled follow up”
In the pop-up, you can:
Edit the follow-up message and send time
Cancel the follow-up by clicking the red X
Smart rules
To avoid awkward or irrelevant outreach, follow-ups are automatically bypassed when:
The prospect has submitted a rental application
The prospect has multiple active units of interest
The unit is On Hold or Waitlist
The prospect has recently sent an text or called
If there’s no engagement after a few follow-ups, the prospect will be marked as “Unresponsive”.
Why it matters
Leasing is all about timing and consistent touch points. In our Q1 Leasing Report, we found that there are 9.6 inbound touch points between a new lead entering the system and that lead submitting an application.
